You and your friends can also take part by volunteering. Our events can't take place without the hundreds of people who give up their time for a few hours to set up the courses and get everyone in the Race for Life mood. Find out more and register to be a volunteer.
Participants will start the 5k course at St Leonards Sports Field. The route weaves its way up the leafy lane to Aykley Heads, and then continues around Hoppers Wood and the nature areas. The view over Durham City is breathtaking from here, and you may even spot the odd deer. The terrain has everything from pathways to grass land and roads. There are also some steep inclines and descents throughout the course, so taking part will be even more rewarding.
The meeting point is St Leonards School Field, next to Durham Light Infantry.

Please arrive at least an hour before the start of your Race for Life event to avoid queuing.
Available at County Hall car parks & St Leonards RC School
County Hall also hosts a drop off area for participant convenience. Please follow the event signage.
