Take part

Show cancer who’s boss by taking on a 5k or a 10k Race for Life event. Run, walk or dance your way through the course and help us say "cancer we're coming to get you."

You and your friends can also take part by volunteering. Our events can't take place without the hundreds of people who give up their time for a few hours to set up the courses and get everyone in the Race for Life mood. Find out more and register to be a volunteer.

The course

The course is a single lap and takes a scenic route around the stunning Sefton Park. The terrain is a mixture of wide paths and is suitable for women of all ages and abilities. The 10k does go along some roads around the outskirts of the park, but these roads have been closed for your safety. The event has an amazing atmosphere, you couldn’t ask for better.

Meeting point

The meeting point is situated in the north end of the park over by the children’s play area, tennis courts and bistro.

On the day

This a great family day out so why not bring your friends and family along to support you and enjoy the atmosphere. Don’t forget to bring some change as there will a food, and other activities including face painting for the children.

Public transport

To prevent congestion, we strongly recommend you use public transport or car share to your Race for Life event.

Parking and travel information

Please arrive at least an hour before the start of your Race for Life event to avoid queuing.

Mossley Hill Drive and Croxeth Drive will be closed and open to residents only on a one way system

Train: St Michael's is 1 mile from the Park. Walk up Belgrave Rd until you get to Aigburth Rd. Cross the rd to Lark Lane, follow Lark Lane to the End.

By bus: The number 75 from Lime Street to Ullet Rd (bordering the park) travels every 10 mins, the number 80 from Lime St to Ullet Rd travels every 15 mins, the 80A Lime Street to Ullet Road travels every 15 mins. (Please check Sunday times, as they may vary)

By car: Exit the M62 at jct 4, turn left onto Queens Drive. Follow Queens Drive (A5058) across the major jct with Menlove Ave & Allerton Rd to merge into Mossley Hill. After going under a railway tunnel, at next traffic lights turn right into North Mossley Hill Rd. Turn at next left into Greenbank Lane. At end turn left when you will see the Park perimeter.

Parking: There is very limited parking around the perimeter of the park, so it is advisable to come by train or bus to avoid disappointment.
