Take part

Show cancer who’s boss by taking on a 5k or a 10k Race for Life event. Run, walk or dance your way through the course and help us say "cancer we're coming to get you."

You and your friends can also take part by volunteering. Our events can't take place without the hundreds of people who give up their time for a few hours to set up the courses and get everyone in the Race for Life mood. Find out more and register to be a volunteer.

The course

Returning to Newcastle Racecourse the start and finish are situated in front of the main stand. The route takes in the delights of this unique venue with various terrains along paths and through woodland around the peaceful and tranquil High Gosforth Park.

On the day

Bring your friends and family along to support you and they can enjoy the family activities available on the day.

Head over to the ScottishPower tent – it’s the one with the big inflatable hands! Grab your free pink glove, get your photo taken and you can join the High 5 Wave.

Parking and travel information

Please arrive at least an hour before the start of your Race for Life event to avoid queuing.

Please follow event signage

Parking is available at the venue, please follow event signage and steward instructions upon arrival.

The nearest metro station is Regent Centre Metro, but you will still need to get a bus from there to the racecourse.
