Take part

Show cancer who’s boss by taking on a 5k or a 10k Race for Life event. Run, walk or dance your way through the course and help us say "cancer we're coming to get you."

You and your friends can also take part by volunteering. Our events can't take place without the hundreds of people who give up their time for a few hours to set up the courses and get everyone in the Race for Life mood. Find out more and register to be a volunteer.

The course

The Rochester route takes you through the picturesque high street and up through The Vines. The course is mainly hard ground with a few inclines. This is a perfect event to bring friends and family along as there are opportunities to support along the route.

Meeting point

The meeting point is within the main castle grounds.

On the day

Don’t forget to invite your friends and family to support you on the day. There will be catering concessions available.

Public transport

To prevent congestion, we strongly recommend you use public transport or car share to your Race for Life event.

Parking and travel information

Please arrive at least an hour before the start of your Race for Life event to avoid queuing.

There is no specific parking for this event. Please use the Civic Centre Car Park in Strood , Strood train station and Rochester train station are a short walk from the event site.

Please use public transport where possible or use the town centre car parks.
