I was originally diagnosed with thyroid cancer when I was 24, but was successfully treated for the disease. However, early last year I found a lump in my breast, and now at 38, I am currently fighting cancer for the second time.

I have been through 21 weeks of chemotherapy, which was followed by surgery to remove my breast and a reconstruction. I’d been feeling pretty positive until in June the doctors discovered the cancer had spread to my liver. I have been reassured that there are different treatments to try and I am currently taking hormone therapy to help keep the tumour/secondary cancer under control for as long as possible.

It’s thanks to research that I’m here today and your Race for Life sponsorship makes such a difference, as every pound you raise helps Cancer Research UK prevent, diagnose and treat cancer.

Thank you for your support.
