What to do if your event is cancelled

Next steps

Step 1 – Contact

If your event is cancelled on the day, we will send an update on the Race for Life Facebook page and the Race for Life Twitter page, so make sure you're following us on social media.

If your event is cancelled or changed earlier, we will try to contact you by email, post or phone if there is time before your event and we have your correct personal information.

Step 2 – Alternate events

We may reschedule your Race for Life event for an alternate date so you can still take part, so make sure to check the announcements carefully.

You could also have a look at other events which are close to you and transfer to that event so your entry fee and sponsorship money will still support Cancer Research UK. There will be no fee if you choose to do this.

If you're unable to attend the new date or another nearby Race for Life event then please consider completing your own personal 5k challenge in a gym or local park.

Friends, family and colleagues can then still sponsor you and in turn support Cancer Research UK. Your sponsorship money is vital for funding new research to find better ways of preventing, diagnosing and treating cancer. Find out more about where your money goes.

Step 3 – Request a refund

If you can’t take part in another event or hold your own Race for Life then you can request a full refund for yourself and your sponsors.

Please call us on 0300 123 0770 and one of our advisors will be more than happy to help you. Lines are open Monday – Friday, 8.00am to 9.00pm, Saturday and Sunday (and bank holidays) 9.00am to 5.00pm.
