1. What is the entry fee?
The adult price this year is £14.99. This helps to cover the cost of organising all our events around the country.
2. What is the entry fee for children?
The children’s price this year is £10.
3. Can I get a refund as I have decided not to participate?
We are unable to give refunds to those who decide not to participate in Race for Life after they have paid to enter, unless there are exceptional circumstances. We advise you to speak to one of our advisors on 0871 641 1111.
4. Can I change my event date or location?
You can transfer from one Race for Life event to another but will be charged a £5 admin fee. This cost will cover the production and distribution of your new Race for Life Pack, which will include your new running number and event details.
5. Can I have a refund? I entered the incorrect event when entering online.
Unfortunately we are unable to refund participants who enter an incorrect event when entering Race for Life online. Participants are asked to confirm the event they have entered as part of the entry process, as well as other participants they may have entered and any merchandise ordered. However, we can transfer your entry to another event at a cost of £5. This covers the admin fee and another race pack being sent out to you. If you wish to do this, please call 0871 641 1111 and one of our team will be able to help you.
6. Can I transfer my event entry to another participant?
No, we are unable to allow participants to give their Race for Life event packs to anyone else who wants to enter, due to Health and Safety reasons. We need to provide a new event pack with a new running number when an individual enters a Race for Life event. This is because running numbers allow us to track individual participants. On your running number, which is included in your event pack, please ensure that you complete details for a person to contact in case of an emergency. For example, contact telephone numbers and any important medical information that we may need to know about on the day. If you are unable to take part in the event, please call the Race for Life hotline on 0871 641 1111 so your record can be changed accordingly.
7. Why is there an entry Fee / what does the entry fee include/ what does the £14.99 event entry fee pay for?
We have to charge a £14.99 entry/registration fee to cover the costs of organising our events. By charging an entry fee, we make sure that every penny of your sponsorship money goes straight towards Cancer Research UK’s life-saving work. We do everything in our power to keep costs as low as possible. Here are a few examples of what Cancer Research UK uses the entry fee to pay for:
- barriers and staging
- venue hire
- PA system
- toilets
- race numbers
- medals
- marquees
- signage
- postage of entry packs
- medical providers
Your entry / registration fee helps to cover the cost of all our Race for Life events, not just one individual event. Every location has very different requirements and running costs so to enable us to manage this efficiently the entry fee is fixed across all events.
