1.What facilities will be available?

Toilets will be provided at each of the venues along with medical facilities. Refreshments will also be available at a cost. We are unable to provide showers, changing rooms or left luggage facilities.  You will be provided with water at the finish.

Toilets:

Every Race for Life event will have toilet facilities on site. Cancer Research UK provide 1 toilet per 120 people (this is based on recommendation from the Event Safety Guide.

Medical Cover:

Every Race for Life event will have medical cover on site. They will be clearly visible on the day.  If you are in doubt please head to the enquiries marquee where volunteers can point you in the right direct to the First Aid location.

Refreshments:

The majority of Race for Life events will offer refreshments and catering outlets (at a cost to the participants). There are a handful of events that cannot offer on site catering as it breaches the venue terms and conditions. Please always bring your own fluid (water) and snacks just in case to save disappointment. If you are bringing dogs to the event, please ensure you bring adequate water for them.

A bottle of water is given to everyone completing the Race for Life 5k and 10k events.

2. What facilities will not be available?

  • Showers: Race for Life is unable to provide shower facilities at the events.
  • Changing Rooms: Race for Life is unable to provide changing rooms at the events.
  • Left Luggage: Race for Life is unable to provide left luggage facilities at the events due to security.

3. Can I take part in fancy dress?

Yes, that is absolutely fine as long as it doesn’t offend or encroach upon other participants. If the participant is wearing a faux fur costume we strongly advise them to drink plenty of water!

Race for Life offer a wide range of merchandise and accessories to complete your outfit for the day. Visit our shop pages for inspiration.

4. Can I take part in roller skates/blades?

Due to health and safety reasons we must protect the welfare of all our participants at all times. Race for Life therefore do not and cannot allow participants to take part in roller skates or blades.

5. What happens if it rains?

Some of our most successful events have happened in the rain. Events will only be cancelled if there are severe weather conditions that mainly include flash flooding, thunder & lightening or strong winds. Make sure you are suitably dressed for your event and remember that event venues do not have changing rooms or left luggage facilities

6. Will water be provided?

We can confirm that all Race for Life events this year will provide a bottle of water for each participant at the end of their event courtesy of our sponsors, Aqua Pura. Please ensure that you also bring your own water to ensure that you keep hydrated.

7. I have a medical condition can I still take part?

Race for Life involves exercise that your body may not be used to. If you have not exercised for some time, or have an illness or medical condition and are concerned that participating in Race for Life might be harmful to you, you should check this out with your doctor before taking part.

8. Can I be sent a medal in the post; I have misplaced mine/someone else wants one?

Unfortunately we don’t have any spare medals to issue to participants/people who did not complete the event. This is because in order to keep costs down we only ordered enough for one each.
