The Northampton route meanders through Abington Park covering all areas of the scenic park. The route is primarily on grass and cross-country terrain with some short sections on pathways. There are a number of inclines and declines throughout the course. The 10k is two laps of the 5k course.
Due to the ongoing COVID-19 situation, we’ll be operating a staggered start time in 2021 to ensure your safety on event day. Additional start times may become available as/when needed.
The start line is at the top of the field (between Abington Park Crescent and Park Avenue South) alongside the event car park.
There will be free event parking at the venue, off Abington Cresecent. Please car share where possible due to the large number of participants attending. Alternatively, use public transport if you can.
Unfortunately this event is not deemed suitable for wheelchair users. The course goes off the main path throughout the course and is primarily on grass, this can become boggy due to poor weather conditions. Throughout the park there is uneven terrain which the course route goes through.
However, for spectators, the park has paths throughout and offers a range of spots to view the participants at different parts of the course. Please be aware that the event parking is on grass.
Inviting your friends and family to support you on the day is a great idea, they can share in the joy with you as you cross the finish line and ring the bell. They can also help you with those important things, like holding your belongings whilst you walk, jog or run around the course!
Please note, whilst we hope we can open our events to families and friends supporting on the day, this may not be possible due to government guidelines around COVID-19. We will update on this nearer the time.
