On leaving the Bakewell County Showground, you'll join the Monsal Trail heading along a former Midland railway line before dropping into the magnificent Monsal Dale. Ascending through Deep Dale, you'll head south west past the Village of Monyash before joining the Pennine Bridleway and heading South East  to join the High Peak Trail. The final stretch will take you South to Carsington Water and the finish line. Distance approx 25.5 miles.

It is a beautiful hike, taking in the rugged scenery of the Peak District and offering breathtaking views across the Peaks.

This hike is suitable for experienced hikers, plus beginners who have prepared and trained.  It is mostly on paths, with a few grass/off road sections, which can get muddy in wet weather.  Please wear clothing and footwear suitable for varied terrain and weather conditions.  The route incorporates 3 support points, offering refreshments and toilet facilities.
