The start line is in the main open field near the paddling pools.
The town centre car parks and Watford underground station are just a short walk away from the park. Buses such as 320, 321 and W1 serve Watford town centre.
The Cassiobury Park car park is closed all day and there tends to be a lot of congestion in the surrounding roads. Do plan your journey in advance and give yourself plenty of time to make sure you arrive an hour before the start time.
The Watford Pretty Muddy Kids route is set in the beautiful, family-friendly Cassiobury Park. The 5k course follows tree-lined paths and grass avenues, with a mixture of terrains. There are plenty of opportunities for friends and family to enjoy watching you and your Muddy Kid take on the obstacles.
All of our Pretty Muddy Kids events are approximately 5km. At the majority of venues, there will be a shortcut available at approximately 2km or 3km, which will lead back to the finish line. This will signposted on the day. If the shortcut is taken, it may mean missing out some of the obstacles, but we will make sure all children get to take part in the muddy slide at the end.
Obstacle layout and shortcut distances will vary from venue to venue. Adults accompanying children will run alongside the course but will not be allowed to take part on the obstacles.
Due to the nature of the obstacles and the terrain, this event is not suitable for wheelchair users.
Don’t forget to bring friends and family along to support your Muddy Kid! There's a great atmosphere on the day! They can stroll around the stalls for face painting, refreshments and other family-friendly activities.
There are no showers or changing facilities at this event, so you may wish to bring along an old towel for the journey home.
