Course information

The Clumber Park Pretty Muddy course is a single lap route taking in some of the lovely parts of the Clumber Park estate. The route starts and finishes near the lake and takes an out and back along Limetree Avenue to tackle a few obstacles along the way. The terrain is a mixture of grass, paths and road, and although mostly flat it does include a gradual slope along Limetree Avenue.

There are a mixture of obstacles along the way including inflatables, climbing, crawling and mud!

Please bring a reusable water bottle with you if you require water during the event, as there will only be water available at the finish.

Remember to bring a towel and change of clothes for the way home!

Meeting point

The meeting point and start line is on the front field closest to the Visitor Centre, next to the lake. The finish line will be within the similar vacinity but closer to the National Trusts own car park.

Please note there is limited to no phone signal within the park itself so it is advisable to arrange a meeting point prior.

Due to the ongoing COVID-19 situation, we’ll  be operating a staggered start time in 2021 to ensure your safety on event day. Additional start times may become available as/when needed.

There will be free of charge parking available at the venue for all cars containing a Race For Life participant. For cars containing spectators only, the National Trust Clumber Park parking charge will be applicable on entry.

For all event parking please follow Event Day Parking signs and Stewards directions on the day. Disabled parking is available here also, and Stewards will aim to park you in the closest corner to the event field. Please note Clumber Park is a large site and the car park is approximately a 10 minute walk to the main event site, so please arrive in plenty of time to get parked up and walk down before your start time.

There are very few public transport links to the venue, however parking is available at the event. The nearest train station is Worksop, which is around 10-15 minutes from the venue via car; and the closest bus stop is Piper Lane Lodge which is approximatley 30 minutes walk to the main event field.

Parking

Although this course route is mostly flat and on grass, unfortunately we would advise that our Pretty Muddy event is unsuitable for wheelchairs, mobility aids and pushchairs due to the nature of the obstacles.

If spectating, the event site, course route and car park are mostly on grass or paths, so those with accessibility issues may require assistance on the uneven surfaces.

Disabled parking would still be recommended to follow Event Day Parking signs, and Stewards on the day will aim to park you in the closest corner to the event site. Please note this is a short, flat walk to the event site.

If you require any further information on the accessibility of a Race for Life event, or wish to bring a carer/helper to accompany you, please contact our Supporter Hotline on 0300 123 0770 and press 1 when prompted (Opening hours are 8am - 6pm Monday to Friday) or email us at raceforlife@cancer.org.uk.
