Course information

The course is on paths within the forest. A great route through a great venue.  Some of the paths can be quite uneven throughout.

Due to parts of the course being in the forest, it may become slightly muddy underfoot depending on recent weather conditions.

Please bring a reusable water bottle with you if you require water during the event, as there will only be water available at the finish.

Meeting point

The meeting point and the start line is located on Old Pale car park just in front of the new visitor centre.

Due to the ongoing COVID-19 situation, we’ll  be operating a staggered start time in 2021 to ensure your safety on event day. Additional start times may become available as/when needed.

Event day parking is available at Delamere Forest for participants. Pay and Display machines are located within the vicinity and it is requested that participants make an honesty payment prior to leaving the venue.

Disabled parking is also available here and stewards will be on hand to park you in the closest field to the event site.

The nearest train station is located within Delamere Forest. Delamere Station is a 12 minute walk away from the meeting point at Old Pale car park.

Dogs allowed
Suitable for pushchairs
Wheelchair accessible
No bag drop
No showers

We would advise that our 5k course may be unsuitable for wheelchairs, mobility aids and pushchairs due to the woodland terrain.

The route is on a mixture of flat tarmac paths and through woodland paths, so anyone with accessibility issues may require assistance on the uneven surfaces.

There is disabled parking available close to the event site for spectators, but please be aware that in bad weather conditions the ground may become boggy and challenging for those with mobility issues.

The event site is surrounded by a mixture of tarmac pathways that incline and decline.

Supporter / spectator access

Please note, whilst we hope we can open our events to families and friends supporting on the day, this may not be possible due to government guidelines around COVID-19.  Please refer to the section ‘ how we are keeping you safe’ https://raceforlife.cancerresearchuk.org/your-safety for further updates.
