The Basingstoke 10k route is a double lap of the 5k route and takes in all the fields and tracks around Down Grange Sports Complex. Travelling along grass and country paths; this course is mostly flat but with mixed terrain and a small incline near the start.
The start line is on Down Grange Sports Complex, on the football pitch field on the left as you enter the sports complex.
Due to the ongoing COVID-19 situation, we’ll be operating a staggered start time in 2021 to ensure your safety on event day. Additional start times may become available as and when needed.
Please arrive no earlier than 15 minutes before your start time.
Stagecoach are kindly working with Cancer Research UK to put on a Park & Ride service specifically for the Race for Life and Pretty Muddy events in Basingstoke. You will be able to catch this service from the pick up points at the Stagecoach bus station in the centre of Basingstoke and also Basingstoke Train Station, where there is lots of city centre parking. Return tickets will cost £3 and the service will drop off outside Down Grange Sports Complex where the event is taking place. The first bus will start at 9.30am and will run every 15-20 minutes until 3.30pm.
Please be aware that parking in the Basingstoke Rugby & Football Club is not permitted for the event.
Unfortunately this event is not deemed suitable for wheelchair or pushchair users. The course is all on grass which can become boggy in poor weather and in some sections of the course there are narrow paths which are not suitable for wheelchairs or pushchairs. There is also a steep hill which takes you from the rugby pitches to the rest of the land.
If you require any further information on the accessibility of a Race for Life event, or wish to bring a carer/helper to accompany you, please contact our Supporter Hotline on 0300 123 0770 and press 1 when prompted (Opening hours are 8am - 6pm Monday to Friday) or email us at email@example.com
Please note, whilst we hope we can open our events to families and friends supporting on the day, this may not be possible due to government guidelines around COVID-19. We will update on this nearer the time.
We will be giving away bottled water at the finish line. But due to the ongoing Covid-19 pandemic and our plans to reduce single use plastics at our events we encourage participants to bring their own water or hydration fluids on the day.
