Due to the ongoing COVID-19 situation, we’ll be operating a staggered start time in 2021 to ensure your safety on event day. Additional start times may become available as/when needed.
The start and finish area is on the fields in between the rugby club pitches and astroturf pitches.
There will be free car parking at the venue, through the main Down Grange Sports Complex entrance (off Pack Lane). Please follow signs for event parking on the day and be aware that parking in the Basingstoke Rugby Club car park will not be permitted.
Please use public transport or car share where possible! Buses such as 3B, 4 and 57 can be used to access Down Grange Sports Complex.
The Basingstoke Pretty Muddy route has a fantastic atmosphere as the course criss-crosses around the many park tracks, meaning you can always see other participants around you. Travelling along grass and country paths; this course is mostly flat but with mixed terrain and, of course, our great Pretty Muddy obstacles too.
Adults accompanying children will run alongside the course, but will not be allowed to take part in the obstacles.
Please bring your own water bottles, should you wish to carry water with you during the event, as there will only be water available at the finish line and not on the course.
Whilst this event is not accessible for wheelchair users given the nature of the obstacles, the event site is accessible for spectators with wheelchairs. There are blue badge holder parking spaces available in the Rugby Club car park. However, the start and finish area is on grass and the route from the blue badge parking spaces is approximately 150m across grass. It's also worth mentioning that most of the course is accessed via uphill slopes to the rest of the park.
Inviting your friends and family to support you on the day is a great idea, they can share in the joy with you as you cross the finish line and ring the bell. They can also help you with those important things, like holding your belongings whilst you walk, jog or run around the course!
Please note, whilst we hope we can open our events to families and friends supporting on the day, this may not be possible due to government guidelines around COVID-19. We will update on this nearer the time.
