This course is a mixture of paved pathways and grassy terrain, within Fairlands Valley Park. It crosses the road using the underpass, and takes in the boating lake and lots of lovely tree-line pathways. We advise that this is wheelchair accessible with assistance due to some minor inclines throughout the route.
Due to the ongoing COVID-19 situation, we’ll be operating a staggered start time in 2021 to ensure your safety on event day. Additional start times may become available as and when needed.
The meeting point is in the centre of Fairland’s Valley Park Showground, between Broadhall Way and Six Hills Way.
There is free car parking available in the event car park which you must access via Broadhall Way (please use this postcode SG2 9BN). Please follow the yellow directional signage on the day. If travelling via public transport, we recommend catching a bus from Stevenage Town Bus Station to the Roaring Meg and walking from there. Alternatively, Stevenage Train Station is a 30 minute walk away.
Due to the mixed terrain and a number of inclines this event is only suitable for wheelchair users if they have assistance.
Inviting your friends and family to support you on the day is a great idea, they can share in the joy with you as you cross the finish line and ring the bell. They can also help you with those important things, like holding your belongings whilst you walk, jog or run around the course!
Please note, whilst we hope we can open our events to families and friends supporting on the day, this may not be possible due to government guidelines around COVID-19. We will update on this nearer the time.
