Course information
Sunderland Race for Life 10k, a single lap that ventures through the breathtaking Herrington Park. The course is designed to take you on an immersive experience, showcasing the stunning lakes and local wildlife, with picturesque views of the Penshaw Monument and the North East region.
The Sunderland route mainly comprises of tarmac paths, but please be aware that some sections are on gravel tracks. The course is also undulating, providing an added challenge for participants. Keep a lookout for the 10k split points along the way, clearly marked and stewarded to guide you on your path.
The event site is just a short walk from the car park, so we advise arriving 40-50 minutes before your scheduled start time of 10:00 to ensure ample time for parking and preparations.
Please remember to bring your own water bottle already filled as there will be no bottled water provided at events. There will be a water refill station 1/2 around the course and a ScottishPower water refill station&
Meeting point
The start line is located on the field adjacent to the children's play area.

We positivly encourage the use of public transport, bicycles and car sharing. Bike racks are situated within the Blue Badge Parking in the car park.
There are a number of buses that run along Chester Road, all of which are accessible to Herrington Country Park.

Free event parking is provided at this venue. Follow directions from stewards and signage on the day.
