The route is set in the beautiful grounds of Houghton Hall, making this a cross country course unlike any other, starting and finishing in full view of this beautiful 18th century stately home.
This course has rough and bumpy terrain, mainly all on grass with a small section on stoney pathways. There will be no water available on the 5k route, other than at the finish, so please bring your own bottle if you feel you will need it.
Due to the ongoing COVID-19 situation, we’ll be operating a staggered start time in 2021 to ensure your safety on event day. Additional start times may become available as and when needed.
The start line is beside the car park and is behind Houghton Hall itself.
There is free car parking available in the event car park, please follow the yellow directional signage on the day.
This venue is remote with the closest bus stop being over half an hour's walk away. To reduce your carbon footprint and help decrease car park congestion on the night, please try to lift share with friends and family.
Due to the challenging terrain, this event is not suitable for wheelchair users
Inviting your friends and family to support you on the day is a great idea, they can share in the joy with you as you cross the finish line and ring the bell. They can also help you with those important things, like holding your belongings whilst you walk, jog or run around the course!
Please note, whilst we hope we can open our events to families and friends supporting on the day, this may not be possible due to government guidelines around COVID-19. We will update on this nearer the time.
