Due to the ongoing COVID-19 situation, we’ll be operating a staggered start time in 2021 to ensure your safety on event day. Additional start times may become available as and when needed.
The start line is within the main field in Lower Castle Park, next to the bowling green. You will see the main event area with the marquees, flags and staging.
To access the Start Line please enter Lower Castle park from Rye Gate. Rye Gate is accessed via Middle Mill Road found at the bottom of Maidenburgh Street, Northgate Street & St Peters Street. Please do not enter from Upper Castle Park direction or from Leisureworld’s direction as Race for Life participants will be running through these gates and areas due to the staggered start times.
There is no parking at the venue however the train station and a number of bus services are just a walk away.
For more information please go to www.visitcolchester.com
Please note there are new road layouts within Colchester Town Centre with enforced bus lanes.
This route is mainly on grass and pathways with a few inclines. The ground can become soft and muddy near the river when there has been wet weather. For this reason we feel that wheelchair users would require assistance.
Inviting your friends and family to support you on the day is a great idea, they can share in the joy with you as you cross the finish line and ring the bell. They can also help you with those important things, like holding your belongings whilst you walk, jog or run around the course!
Please note, whilst we hope we can open our events to families and friends supporting on the day, this may not be possible due to government guidelines around COVID-19. We will update on this nearer the time.
