The Preston 10k course is a double 5K lap route mostly on flat grass with the occasional slight incline. The route starts and finishes in the middle of the field. Due to the course being on grass, it may be slightly muddy underfoot depending on recent weather conditions.
Please bring a reusable water bottle with you if you require water during the event, as there will only be water available at the finish.
The meeting point and start line can be found in the centre of Moor Park. The finish line will also be within a similar vicinity.
Due to the ongoing COVID-19 situation, we’ll be operating a staggered start time in 2021 to ensure your safety on event day. Additional start times may become available as/when needed.
We are pleased to offer free event parking courtesy of Preston North End Football Club. The car park is located over the road from Moor Park on the A6063 Sir Tom Finney Way. Please take great care when crossing the road to and from the car park to Moor Park and allow time for parking. There is a 5 min walk from the Football Stadium car park to the event site.
The car park within Moor Park will be closed to participants with the exception of Blue Badge Holders.
The majority of this course is on path, so is suitable for wheelchair users with assistance. The event site and some parts of the course do involve going on grass and could be unsuitable for wheelchairs if the ground is wet, however short cuts are available.
Please note, whilst we hope we can open our events to families and friends supporting on the day, this may not be possible due to government guidelines around COVID-19. Please refer to the section ‘ how we are keeping you safe’ https://raceforlife.cancerresearchuk.org/your-safety for further updates.
