Course information

The Bridgend route is set in a fantastic location in the heart of Bridgend. With the course consisting of grassy flat terrain and pathways, the route follows the Ogmore River through Newbridge Fields into neighbouring open countryside.

Meeting point

The start line is on the rugby pitch in Newbridge Fields.  Due to the ongoing COVID-19 situation, we’ll be operating a staggered start time in 2021 to ensure your safety on event day. Additional start times may become available as/when needed.

Car sharing and arriving early will help your day run smoothly and ease local congestion. Please utilise public transport where you can. There is no specific event parking but there may be limited spaces available in the recreation centre. Alternatively please use town centre car parks.

The bus station is a 10 min walk from the venue and buses run at various times on a Sunday morning; please go to FirstGroup.com for timetables. The train station is also a 15 min walk away.

This course is predominently on grass with a steep incline at the beginning and end of the course for the bridge over the River Ogmore. This course is wheelchair accessible with assistance but can become boggy and uneven in poor weather conditions.

Supporter / spectator access

Inviting your friends and family to support you on the day is a great idea, they can share in the joy with you as you cross the finish line and ring the bell.  They can also help you with those important things, like holding your belongings whilst you walk, jog or run round the course!

Please note, whilst we hope we can open our events to families and friends supporting on the day, this may not be possible due to government guidelines around COVID-19. We will update on this nearer the time.
