Course information

The Barnstaple route follows the completely flat and scenic Tarka Trail paths through central Barnstaple and then heads along the side of the River Taw, returning via the same route. The terrain is mostly paved pathways with some small grass sections.

Meeting point

The start line is adjacent to the Tarka Tennis Centre.  Due to the ongoing COVID-19 situation, we’ll be operating a staggered start time in 2021 to ensure your safety on event day. Additional start times may become available as/when needed.

Car parking is available adjacent to the event area.

The nearest train station is Barnstaple Station, which is roughly a 15 minute walk away from the venue, or a quick taxi ride.

The venue is a short 10 minute walk from the town centre.

Parking

This event is suitable for wheelchair users with assistance due to the grass on the main event site and a slight decline at the end of the course. This course will also be going underneath the Barnstaple Long Bridge so wheelchair users will need to take care on this section due to the incline and decline of the path.

Supporter / spectator access

Inviting your friends and family to support you on the day is a great idea, they can share in the joy with you as you cross the finish line and ring the bell.  They can also help you with those important things, like holding your belongings whilst you walk, jog or run round the course!

Please note, whilst we hope we can open our events to families and friends supporting on the day, this may not be possible due to government guidelines around COVID-19. We will update on this nearer the time.
