The Sefton Park 10k is a single lap that takes a scenic route around the park. The course features a mixture of narrow pathways -particularly the section around the lake, areas with a slight incline, grassed sections and predominately flat pathways. It gives some stunnning veiws of the picturesque park.
Please bring a reusable water bottle with you if you require water during the event.
The meeting point and start line is within the park playing field off Mossley Hill Drive, near to The Needle statue. The finish line will also be within the similar vacinity.
Due to the ongoing COVID-19 situation, we’ll be operating a staggered start time in 2021 to ensure your safety on event day. Additional start times may become available as/when needed.
There is no official Race for Life parking at the venue.
Please use the surrounding area and on-street parking around the park. Please do park carefully and be considerate of the residents.
We would advise that our 10k course may be unsuitable for wheelchairs, mobility aids and pushchairs due to the narrow pathways, grass and steeper sections surrounding the lake. The route is on a mixture of flat tarmacked pathways, grass and narrow sections which have a slight incline so anyone with accessibility issues may require assistance on the narrow, steeper sections. The event site is on mainly grass with tarmac paths surrounding it.
If spectating, the event site is on grass so those with accessibility issues may require assistance on the uneven surface. Please be aware that in wet weather ground conditions on the grassed areas can deteriorate quickly.
Please note, whilst we hope we can open our events to families and friends supporting on the day, this may not be possible due to government guidelines around COVID-19. Please refer to the section ‘ how we are keeping you safe’ https://raceforlife.cancerresearchuk.org/your-safety for further updates.
