Oxford Pretty Muddy Kids
Saturday 2 Oct 2021
£10.00 Children | £0.00 Supervising Adult
Race for Life Pretty Muddy Kids is our brilliant muddy obstacle course just for the little ones. They can take on the obstacles, crawl through the mud pit and have fun with friends, all the while helping raise valuable funds for life-saving research.
Please note, all children taking part must be at least 1.2m tall on day of event.
The start and finish area is in South Park, at the bottom of the park's hill.
Due to the ongoing COVID-19 situation, we’ll be operating a staggered start time in 2021 to ensure your safety on event day. Additional start times may become available as/when needed
There is no parking at South Park and we recommend using public transport to get to the event. There are various local buses, including Park and Ride, servicing the area around South Park and Oxford Bus Company are kindly operating their Park and Ride 400 service at an increased frequency on the day of the event.
You can use the Park and Ride 400 service from Thornhill and Seacourt to get to the South Park venue using the bus stops on Headington Road (Brookes University) or St Clements Street - both approx. 500m walk from start and finish area. Other buses stop directly outside South Park. We recommend planning your journey in advance using Google Maps or a similar alternative. Please also refer to the Oxford Bus Company website where you can take a look at maps of the routes.
The course meanders around the beautiful grounds of South Park's 50 acres with magnificent views overlooking Oxford. The route is mostly on grass and given the venue, involves a few inclines! However, the muddy obstacles around the route will give you something else to focus on.
Adults accompanying children will walk or run alongside the course but will not be allowed to take part on the obstacles.
Remember to bring a towel and change of clothes for the way home!
This course is not accessible for wheelchair users given the nature of the obstacles and unfortunately the event site is not particularly accessible for spectators using wheelchairs either. Unfortunately, no vehicles are permitted to park at South Park. The best way to access the park would be to park at Thornhill or Seacourt Park and Ride and catch the 400 bus. The nearest bus stops are approximately 500m from the start and finish area. South Park has historical ridges and furrows which means the grass is very undulating.
If you require any further information on the accessibility of a Race for Life event, or wish to bring a carer/helper to accompany you, please contact our Supporter Hotline on 0300 123 0770 and press 1 when prompted (Opening hours are 8am - 6pm Monday to Friday) or email us at email@example.com
Inviting your friends and family to support you on the day is a great idea, they can share in the joy with you as you cross the finish line and ring the bell. They can also help you with those important things, like holding your belongings whilst you walk, jog or run around the course!
Please note, whilst we hope we can open our events to families and friends supporting on the day, this may not be possible due to government guidelines around COVID-19. Please refer to the section ‘ how we are keeping you safe’ https://raceforlife.cancerresearchuk.org/your-safety for further updates.
