The Durham course starts in St Leonard’s Playing fields before passing by County Hall. The route then loops around Aykley Heads Woods where you will get stunning views of the city. If you’re lucky you may even see some of the resident deer when you pass through the Aykley Woods nature reserve.
The meeting point and start line is in the St Leonard’s School Playing Fields, on Framwellgate Peth.
There is parking available at County Hall. However, to look after our environment, we encourage you to car share or take public transport where possible. Durham train station is approximately a 10 minute walk from the start line and there are a number of bus services that stop at County Hall. The Traveline North East website can help you plan your journey.
Unfortunately, due to the steep hills and the course running on muddy and grassy paths, this event is unsuitable for wheelchair users.
Don’t forget to bring your friends and family along to support you. Go and cheer on your loved ones from the many accessible points around the course.
