Race for Life Pretty Muddy Kids is our brilliant muddy obstacle course just for the little ones. They can take on the obstacles, crawl through the mud pit and have fun with friends, all the while helping raise valuable funds for life-saving research.

Meeting point

The meeting point is Southampton Common, opposite the playground. Please arrive 1 hour before the start of the race.

Due to the ongoing COVID-19 situation, we’ll  be operating a staggered start time in 2021 to ensure your safety on event day. Additional start times may become available as/when needed.

There is no parking at the event on The Common. Please use public transport where possible. Southampton Central station is a 30 minute walk away or St Denys train station is a 25 minute walk away. 

Course information

The Southampton route takes you along the tree lined paths of The Common. The surface is flat and on tarmac throughout so you can enjoy the fantastic obstacles without worrying about any hills.

All of our Pretty Muddy Kids events are approximately 5km.

Obstacle layout and shortcut distances will vary from venue to venue. Adults accompanying children will run alongside the course but will not be allowed to take part on the obstacles.

Due to the nature of the event it is not suitable for wheelchair users.

Supporter / spectator access

Inviting your friends and family to support you on the day is a great idea, they can share in the joy with you as you cross the finish line and ring the bell.  They can also help you with those important things, like holding your belongings whilst you walk, jog or run round the course!

Please note, whilst we hope we can open our events to families and friends supporting on the day, this may not be possible due to government guidelines around COVID-19. We will update on this nearer the time.
