The original and most popular Race for Life event, the 5k is an entry-level distance and an achievable first challenge for most. At just over 3 miles it can take about an hour to complete on average, but there's no pressure to finish in a certain time. Walk, jog, run or make your way around the course however suits you to fund life-saving research.

Course information

The Folkestone route boasts beautiful sea views along the top of The Leas, down to the war memorial and back. This flat course is perfect for everyone and there are plenty of viewing locations along the route.

Please arrive 30 to 45 mins before your start time so that you are prepared and ready to go on time.

There will not be any water refill stations along the course so if you require water during the event, please remember to bring your own reusable water bottle already filled up. You will be able to refill this at the refill station when you finish.
