The Newcastle route is a flat course on mixed terrain including paths, road and some small sections on grass. The main event site is on grass so may be slightly muddy underfoot depending on recent weather conditions.

This event is recommended as suitable for wheelchair users with assistance due to terrain that can be very difficult to navigate. The majority of the course utilises the paths of the Town Moor which are surfaced with large stones, thus creating long sections of uneven terrain. The main event site and some small sections of course are on grass so may be slightly muddy underfoot depending on recent weather conditions. The course can be adapted to avoid grass sections.
