The St Albans route is an amazing journey through a piece of history. Hilly in places and fairly challenging, we set off by Westminster Lodge before traversing the open fields, enjoying splendid views of the Abbey and then journeying around the picturesque lake. The 10k course is two laps of the 5k route.
There will one water station on the course, at around 5km, and one at the finish line. Please bring your own bottle if you feel you will need more than this.
Due to the ongoing COVID-19 situation, we’ll be operating a staggered start time in 2021 to ensure your safety on event day. Additional start times may become available as and when needed.
The start line is in the field next to Westminster Lodge Leisure Centre.
St Albans Abbey station is just across the road from the park entrance and there are numerous bus routes operating around the city centre.
If you are arriving by car, you will not be allowed to use the car parks located within Verulamium Park. We recommend that you use the multi-storey car parks in St Albans city centre which are just a short walk away from the park itself.
Please be aware that parking charges apply on Sundays. For more information, please visit the St Albans Council car parks website:
Any vehicles that park illegally in the surrounding roads may be subject to a Penalty Charge Notice.
Due to the challenging terrain, this event is not suitable for wheelchair users
Inviting your friends and family to support you on the day is a great idea, they can share in the joy with you as you cross the finish line. They can also help you with those important things, like holding your belongings whilst you walk, jog or run around the course!
Please note, whilst we hope we can open our events to families and friends supporting on the day, this may not be possible due to government guidelines around COVID-19. We will update on this nearer the time.
