The 5k route winds itself around Yeovil Recreation Ground and also utilises the Athletics track. The terrain is varied, a mixture of pavement, track and grass. We have adapted the route for 2021 and will no longer be closing Mudford Road.
The main event area is located on the grassed lawned area just to the left of the Yeovil College buildings as you come in the main entrance. Due to the ongoing COVID-19 situation, we’ll be operating a staggered start time in 2021 to ensure your safety on event day. Additional start times may become available as/when needed.
There is no parking onsite in 2021 and we will be asking participants to utilise parking within Yeovil Town Centre.
The nearest car parks are:
Court Ash Public Car Park, BA20 1HL (11 minute walk to Yeovil College)
Market Street Public Car Park, BA20 1HW (11 minute walk to Yeovil College)
North Lane Public Car Park, BA20 1EQ (11 minute walk to Yeovil College)
Huish Public Car Park, BA20 1AA (16 minute walk to Yeovil College)
Yeovil Pen Mill Train Station is 1.4miles away, along with Yeovil Junction Train Station being 2.6miles away from the Yeovil College.
There is a network of cycle paths leading to Yeovil College, which provides cycle storage space near to the event site.
The route has a mixed terrain with gentle slopes but is mainly on grass through Yeovil Recreation grounds. The event site and part of the route is on grass, and track. Yeovil 5k is wheelchair accessible with assistance but can become boggy and uneven in poor weather conditions.
Inviting your friends and family to support you on the day is a great idea, they can share in the joy with you as you cross the finish line and ring the bell. They can also help you with those important things, like holding your belongings whilst you walk, jog or run round the course!
Please note, whilst we hope we can open our events to families and friends supporting on the day, this may not be possible due to government guidelines around COVID-19. We will update on this nearer the time.
