The Pretty Muddy Bristol route is a fairly flat course with mixed terrain that mostly follows the perimeter of The Downs, taking in amazing views of the Gorge and Suspension Bridge. This event has some extra challenges thrown in with some fun obstacles to do together. There are lots of opportunities for supporters to watch the fun at each obstacle and the whole event has a fantastic atmosphere.
The start line is opposite the Water tower, just off Stoke Road and Ladies Mile.
Pretty Muddy Park & Ride
This year for the Race for Life Pretty Muddy we will have a Park and Ride service in operation from Long Ashton Park and Ride car park in Bristol. This is situated just off the A370, please use the postcode BS3 2HB for your SatNav. Buses will run every 7-8 mins from the Park and Ride to the event on The Downs between 08:30 and 15:30.
Tickets are only £3.00 for a return journey and children under 16 travel free of charge. There are also options to purchase a day ticket and link up to the other bus networks on the day. Tickets are purchased on the bus on the day.
Parking on The Downs is not permitted. If you arrive early you may find spaces on the surrounding roads but be aware that road closures are in place on Stoke Road, Ladies Mile, Circular and Fountain Road for the event. Stewards will be there on the day to direct you. Please note there is limited disabled parking on Stoke Road.
Please utilise public transport: Clifton train station is a 10 minute walk from the venue which links to the main train station Temple Meads. Buses run up to The Downs from the town centre on Sundays. Please go to firstgroup.com for timetables.
This event is not wheelchair accessible due to the Obstacles on the course
Don’t forget to bring your friends and family along to support you. They can stroll around the stalls and activities and enjoy the refreshments on offer, whilst waiting to cheer you through the finish. Afterwards you can stay, perhaps have a picnic in the park and reflect on your achievement and reason for taking part.
