The Herne Bay route is mainly on sea wall paths and roads and is mostly flat. In 2021, the route will start and finish in separate locations. The route shows off the spectacular views along Herne Bay seafront, with the second half of the course running along the sea wall as far as Swalecliffe, where the course turns in to finish at Swalecliffe Recreation Ground.
The start line is within Hampton Pier Recreation Ground and to avoid overcrowding and aid social distancing, this year the finish will be at Swalecliffe Recreation Ground (CT5 2NY).
Due to the ongoing COVID-19 situation, we will be operating a staggered start time in 2021 to ensure your safety on event day. Additional start times may become available as/when needed.
Please note: For 2021, this event will start and finish in separate locations.
There is no specific parking for this event. Please note that if you use the local streets surrounding Hampton Recreation Ground to park your vehicle, that the event will be finishing in Swalecliffe Recreation Ground (CT5 2NY), and NOT in the same location that you start.
There are road closures affecting Hampton Pier Avenue and Western Esplanade from 10:30am-1:30pm.
This event has some steep inclines and declines on the route therefore this event is not suitable for wheelchair users.
