This 5k double lap course starts and finishes within the lovely grounds of Queen's Park. The route takes in paths through the park and then heads out onto Boythorpe Avenue before returning to Queen's Park for a second lap. The course is flat and mostly on paths, but parts of the route and event site is on grass. Because of the time of year, it may be slightly muddy underfoot depending on recent weather conditions.
Please bring a reusable water bottle with you if you require water during the event, as there will only be water available at the finish.
The meeting point and start line is near to the bandstand within Queen's Park. The finish line will also be within the similar vacinity.
Due to the ongoing COVID-19 situation, we’ll be operating a staggered start time in 2021 to ensure your safety on event day. Additional start times may become available as/when needed.
There is no designated car park for this event as the park is accessible via a number of public transport routes and public car parks.
The nearest train station is Chesterfield, which is about a 15 minute walk to the start line. There are numerous bus services that run from the surrounding areas into the town centre and onto Park Road and Boythorpe Road that surround Queen's Park.
Car parking is available in a number of public pay and display car parks around the town centre which is just a short walk to Queen's Park. Please note the Queen's Park North Car Park will be closed for the duration of the event but the pay and display car parks on Queen's Park South and Boythorpe Avenue are both still operational as usual. There are a limited number of disabled car park spaces available for blue badge holders in Queen's Park North Car Park.
We would recommend that this event is wheelchair accessible with assistance.
The course and event site is mainly on grass with some paths. The route is flat throughout.
Due to the time of year the event is taking place, the grass may become boggy in poor weather conditions.
The venue is accessible from most entrances with disabled parking available at Queen's Park North car park.
