The Plymouth route starts and finishes on the picturesque Hoe promenade, adjacent to Smeaton’s Tower, and provides fantastic views of the sea and a great atmosphere. The course is all on paved paths and follows closed roads around the Hoe and pathways in Hoe Gardens, so please do expect some hills and some uneven surfaces.
The event site is on the Hoe grassed area, adjacent to Smeaton’s Tower. Due to the ongoing COVID-19 situation, we’ll be operating a staggered start time in 2021 to ensure your safety on event day. Additional start times may become available as/when needed.
There is no designated event car park at this venue, however there are multiple city centre car parks nearby. For more information please visit www.plymouth.gov.uk/parkingandtravel/findsomewherepark.
Plymouth train station is about a 25 minute walk away from the event, and the bus station is about a 15 minute walk away. Alternatively, do consider a carpool in a taxi with friends.
Please note the following road closures will be in effect for the event (timings will be updated nearer the event):
Hoe Road, Madeira Road
One-way sections: Hoegate Street; Lambhay Hill, Elliot Street until Junction of Citadel Road; Citadel Road for short stretch; Leigham Ter; Leigham Street; Cliff Road; W. Hoe Road; Great Western Road; Grand Parade
This course is all solely on Tarmac and a wide route. There is no differentiation in the terrain. The event site is also on hardstanding, with the staged area on Grass next to the lighthouse which may become boggy and uneven in poor weather condtions. However due to some steep inclines on the route, assistance may be required for wheelchair users.

Please note, whilst we hope we can open our events to families and friends supporting on the day, this may not be possible due to government guidelines around COVID-19. We will update on this nearer the time.
We will be giving away bottled water at the finish line. But due to the ongoing Covid-19 pandemic and our plans to reduce single use plastics at our events we encourage participants to bring their own water or hydration fluids on the day.
