The Cardiff route takes a scenic tour around the stunning Bute Park in the heart of the City of Cardiff, following the River Taff into neighbouring Pontcanna Fields. This course allows participants to really explore Pontcanna Fields before returning into Blackweir. Lush grassy, flat terrain and such close proximity to the attractions of Cardiff Centre make this an extremely popular event with a fantastic atmosphere.
The start line is in Coopers Field. Due to the ongoing COVID-19 situation, we’ll be operating a staggered start time in 2021 to ensure your safety on event day. Additional start times may become available as/when needed.
There is no parking at the event. Please use local car parks.
This course is predominently on paths within Bute Park and then along grass in Pontcanna Fields so is wheelchair accessible with assistance but can become boggy and uneven in poor weather conditions.
If you require any further information on the accessibility of a Race for Life event, or wish to bring a carer/helper to accompany you, please contact our Supporter Hotline on 0300 123 0770 and press 1 when prompted (Opening hours are 8am - 6pm Monday to Friday) or email us at firstname.lastname@example.org
Please note, whilst we hope we can open our events to families and friends supporting on the day, this may not be possible due to government guidelines around COVID-19. We will update on this nearer the time.
We will be giving away bottled water at the finish line. But due to the ongoing Covid-19 pandemic and our plans to reduce single use plastics at our events we encourage participants to bring their own water or hydration fluids on the day.
