The Watford 10k is one of our tougher routes, with a mixture of terrain and a variety of contrasts, that will give you a great sense of achievement when you cross the finish line! The first half follows tree-lined paths and grass avenues around Cassiobury Park. You’ll then cross over the Grand Union Canal to take in the beautiful scenery of Whippendell Woods, which includes tricky terrain and a few inclines to challenge you!
There will one water station on the course, at around 5km, and one at the finish line. Please bring your own bottle if you feel you will need more than this
Due to the ongoing COVID-19 situation, we’ll be operating a staggered start time in 2021 to ensure your safety on event day. Additional start times may become available as and when needed.
The start line is in the main open field near the paddling pools.
The town centre car parks and Watford underground station are just a short walk away from the park. Buses such as 320, 321 and W1 serve Watford town centre.
The Cassiobury Park car park is closed all day and there tends to be a lot of congestion in the surrounding roads. Do plan your journey in advance and give yourself plenty of time to make sure you arrive an hour before the start time.
This course has large slopes and is through rugged woodland and is not suitable for wheelchair users.

Inviting your friends and family to support you on the day is a great idea, they can share in the joy with you as you cross the finish line and ring the bell. They can also help you with those important things, like holding your belongings whilst you walk, jog or run around the course!
Please note, whilst we hope we can open our events to families and friends supporting on the day, this may not be possible due to government guidelines around COVID-19. We will update on this nearer the time.
