The Aylesbury Race for Life takes in the picturesque grounds of Waddesdon Estate. There is a steady incline at the start of the course, but what goes up must come down, so a nice long downhill stretch follows.
Due to the ongoing COVID-19 situation, we’ll be operating a staggered start time in 2021 to ensure your safety on event day. Additional start times may become available as/when needed.
The start line is in the field by the car park, the other side of the shuttle bus bus stop. Please take care when walking to the event site and keep an eye out for moving vehicles on the internal road.
There is free event parking for participants via Silk Street (off the High Street). Please be advised the house and grounds will still be open to the public.
Unfortunately this event is not deemed suitable for wheelchair users due to two long sections of incline/decline. The course follows the internal road from the car park to Waddesdon Hill and this is a long uphill section. The course then follows Waddesdon Hill down to the junction with the A41, which is a steep downhill section.
For any spectators with wheelchairs who wish to access the start and finish area, there is blue badge parking about 150m from the event site. This area is on grass, so may get boggy in poor weather conditions.
If you require any further information on the accessibility of a Race for Life event, or wish to bring a carer/helper to accompany you, please contact our Supporter Hotline on 0300 123 0770 and press 1 when prompted (Opening hours are 8am - 6pm Monday to Friday) or email us at firstname.lastname@example.org
Inviting your friends and family to support you on the day is a great idea, they can share in the joy with you as you cross the finish line and ring the bell. They can also help you with those important things, like holding your belongings whilst you walk, jog or run round the course!
Please note, whilst we hope we can open our events to families and friends supporting on the day, this may not be possible due to government guidelines around COVID-19. Please refer to the section ‘ how we are keeping you safe’ https://raceforlife.cancerresearchuk.org/your-safety for further updates.
