ABOUT THE 5K EVENT
The original and most popular Race for Life event, the 5k is an entry-level distance and an achievable first challenge for most. At just over 3 miles it can take about an hour to complete on average, but there's no pressure to finish in a certain time. Enter solo or in a group and run, jog or walk to fund life-saving research.

You fundraise, we discover
Over 10 million participants have taken part in Race for Life events since 1994, fundraising for Cancer Research UK.
Race for Life has raised over £940 million towards life-saving cancer research since it began 30 years ago.
Thanks to fundraising, Cancer Research UK helped develop radiotherapy, which helps over 130,000 UK patients every year.
"I got muddy and I liked the bouncy castle slide at the end!"
“I liked doing the run as I like to get dirty and mum didn’t mind this time! My dad's medicine isn’t working so he needs a new one to make him feel better. We need lots of money to kill cancer. I hate stupid cancer. I'm going to run faster next time and leave the girls behind!” - Ryan, aged 11
“I got muddy running with mummy. I was proud doing it for my daddy. There was lots of people and I liked the bouncy castle slide at the end!” - Amy, aged 7
Ryan, Amy and their mum Sarah took part in Pretty Muddy Kids Preston 2022 in honour of their Dad who has cancer
While your entry fee covers the cost of your event, it's the money you raise that will fund vital research and see more people surviving cancer.
