Closed event terms and conditions

Media consent (Events closed event)

By taking part in this event you are allowing Cancer Research UK (“CRUK”) or its appointed agency to film, record and/or photograph you. Your participation in this filming, recording and/or photography is entirely voluntary.

 

By registering to take part in this event, you (or your parent/legal guardian if applicable) agree to the following:  

 

  • The footage, sound recordings and/or photographs taken of you (which may also include footage of any photographs or other materials supplied by you) (“Materials”) together with your name may be used and published worldwide in any media (including without limitation newspapers and magazines, corporate communications, websites, television, radio and social media) for an unlimited time. 

 

  • The Materials may be cut, modified, added to or edited and/or combined with text, images or graphics in any way that CRUK sees fit.  

 

  • The Materials may be used to promote CRUK and its work both within the charity and to the public including through advertising, fundraising, health campaigns and education.  Please note that CRUK may also decide to not use the Materials at all. 

 

  • Stills (images) may be extracted from footage taken of you, photographs may be taken of footage taken of you and transcriptions of your speech or sound may be made. 

 

  • You will not own copyright or have any rights or ownership or other claim in the Materials (except where the Materials are provided by you). 

 

  • Where any Materials are provided by you, you grant CRUK a perpetual, royalty-free, non-exclusive licence to use those Materials as described above and waive all moral rights you may have in them.  

 

  • Third parties may use, edit and reproduce Materials in the course of supporting CRUK and its work. 

 

  • CRUK will keep all Materials and use them for such period as it considers appropriate (usually 5 years). After this point we will continue to store the Materials for our historical record but will contact you again to ask your permission should we wish to re-use them.  

 

  • In connection with the Materials, CRUK or its appointed agency may collect, store and use your personal information (including information relating to your health if relevant). You can read our privacy policy at cancerresearchuk.org/privacy-statement for more information. 

 

If at any time you wish to withdraw the consent given, please let us know by writing to Brand, Cancer Research UK, 2 Redman Place, London E20 1JQ or emailing brand@cancer.org.uk. Please note that CRUK cannot withdraw Materials already published (whether online or otherwise).
