Life is worth Racing for. Enter Cancer Research UK’s Race for Life and raise money for life-saving cancer research.
Race for Life 3k is ideal for families or groups doing their first Race for Life. It's a fun, achievable and an unforgettable day out! Sign up as a group with friends and family, or go solo and join hundreds of people on the day. There's no pressure to finish in a certain time, so walk, jog or run at your own pace and enjoy the atmosphere. However you take part, you're helping to beat cancer.
The start and finish are on grass. The course is mainly on grass and winds up and down the heath. The course crosses some roads around the heath, but these roads have been closed for your safety. The Blackheath course is relatively flat throughout.

Once you sign up for your Race for Life event, you'll receive an email with all the need-to-know details to help you feel fully prepared for the day.

By car:
General Event Parking: There is no designated parking available at Blackheath and parking bays on surrounding roads will be suspended, illegally parked car will be ticketed. Many roads will be closed for the event and parking bays will be suspended.
Drop Offs: Due to the location there is no specific drop off area.
Blue Badge Parking: Blue badge parking can be found in Blackheath village local car parks.
Volunteer Parking: There is no designated parking available at Blackheath and parking bays on surrounding roads will be suspended, illegally parked car will be ticketed. Many roads will be closed for the event and parking bays will be suspended.
Electric Charging points: The nearest charging point can be found int Blackheath Grove Carpark, in Blackheath Village.
Public transport and pedestrians:
Pedestrians: Please enter the heath from Prince Charles Road.
Bus: The heath is accessible by buses stopping on Prince Charles Road or Prince or Wales Road, including services 54, 202, 380 or 386.
Train: The nearest station is Blackheath, a 10 minute walk to the event.
Cycling & Bike Racks: The nearest bike racks can be found on Tranquil Vale in Blackheath Village.

Parking
The majority of the course is on short cut grass on the common with a few road crossings, and is mainly flat. Whilst there are a lot of drop kerbs on the route, there may be one crossing without one. Please note that in the case of bad weather, the grass may become boggy. This course is wheelchair accessible with assistance.
We aim for maximum accessibility at our events. Our contact centre and on-site team are ready to assist with any needs or questions you may have.
Sunflower wristbands are available at the enquiries marquee, and our Event Managers are trained Dementia Friends.
A QR code will be available on the main event site to access British Sign Language stage content for those who use BSL.
