About the 10k event

Race for Life 10k is a more challenging event, but without any pressure. Take it at your own pace and enjoy the atmosphere, or push yourself a little more. The events are chip-timed, so you can find out if you’ve beaten your personal best! Sign up as a group with friends and family, or go solo and join hundreds of people on the day. However you take part, you’re helping to beat cancer.

Course information

The course starts and finishes beside the iconic Blackpool Tower and Comedy Carpet, setting the stage for an unforgettable run. Enjoy fast, flat terrain with lively undulations along the lower and middle promenades, sweeping past North Pier and the go‑kart track. The 10k follows a double‑lap of the 5k route.

By car:
General Event Parking:
There is no designated parking available at this event.  Please use local car parks.

Drop Offs: A drop off point will be provided on the evening of the event on Adelaide St West, to the side of the Blackpool Tower.  Please follow event signage and the stewards will direct you.

Blue Badge Parking: There is no designated blue badge parking available at this event.  Please use local car parks with blue badge parking.

Volunteer Parking: There is no designated parking available at this event.  Please use local car parks.

Electric Charging points: The closest electric charge point is located at Blackpool Central Car Park,  FY1 5QE.

The closest entrance to the event site for pedestrians on foot is off the A584.

Bus: Blackpool Bus Station is approximately 700m's from the Comedy Carpet.  A tram service is available from the bus station to the venue.

Train: Blackpool North Train Station is approximately 1.2 miles from the Comedy Carpet. A tram service is available from outside the station to the venue.

The start and finish areas are on hard surface pavement, which is all flat and firm underfoot.

Course:
The route includes tarmac and hard standing paths, each event will have sections of congestion where there are 2 way sections of participants from the hole in the wall cafe to the go karting area.

In poor weather, promenade paths may become slippery, which could increase the level of assistance required.
