About the 10k event

Race for Life 10k is a more challenging event, but without any pressure. Take it at your own pace and enjoy the atmosphere, or push yourself a little more. The events are chip-timed, so you can find out if you’ve beaten your personal best! Sign up as a group with friends and family, or go solo and join hundreds of people on the day. However you take part, you’re helping to beat cancer.

Course information

The start and finish is on grass. The course is largely flat with a mixture of terrains, tree-line paths and grass avenues.  The 10k is a double lap of the 5k course.

Once you sign up for your Race for Life event, you'll receive an email with all the need-to-know details to help you feel fully prepared for the day.

Meeting point

The start and finish are at the top of the slope next to Cassiobury Park car park located alongside the "Lebanon Tree".

Travel information

By car:
General Event Parking:
There is no parking available on the day at Cassiobury Park - please use public transport where possible or one of the Watford town centre car parks approx. 15 minute walk to the event.

Drop Offs: There is no designated drop off point at this venue.

Blue Badge Parking: Please talk to a steward on arrival at Cassiobury Park for directions to park.

Volunteer Parking: The Event Manager will be in touch with volunteers prior to the event with information about parking opportunities.

Electric Charging points: Outside Wartford tube satation, or at Morrisons, Ascot Road, Watford WD18 8AA

Public transport and pedestrians:
Pedestrians:
You can use any of the entrances into Cassiobury Park and make your way to the "Lebanon Tree".

Bus: 352 & W30 drop off & pick up at the underground station - approx. 5 minute walk to the event site.

Train: Watford Underground station is located outside of the park approximately 5 minutes walk to the event site. Watford Junction overground station is located in the centre of town approx. 25 minute walk to the event site.

Cycling & Bike Racks: Bike racks can be found near the Daisy cafe/hub in the centre of the park or round by The Cha Cafe near the tennis courts.

Event Site:
The start and finish areas are on grass, which is flat and firm underfoot. In wet weather, the ground may become soft or muddy.

Course:
The route includes tarmac, grass and woodland paths and is a double lap. 
In poor weather, grass may become soft, which could increase the level of assistance required.
