Life is worth Racing for. Enter Cancer Research UK’s Race for Life and raise money for life-saving cancer research.
Race for Life 10k is a more challenging event, but without any pressure. Take it at your own pace and enjoy the atmosphere, or push yourself a little more. The events are chip-timed, so you can find out if you’ve beaten your personal best! Sign up as a group with friends and family, or go solo and join hundreds of people on the day. However you take part, you’re helping to beat cancer.
The start and finish are on hard standing. The course runs along the promenade, looping back round via the road, before returning to the perimeter path back to the finish. The 10k course is a double lap of the 5k course.

The start and finish lines are located on the green running alongside Coronation Drive.

By car:
General Event Parking: Free event car parking is on the grass adjacent to the event site, just off Coronation Drive. Please note that the car park will close 15 minutes before the start of the event and will re-open once the last participant has passed the entrance at approximately 12:30pm. Car parking is limited and we advise to car share or take public transport where possible.

Pedestrians: On the grass along Coronation Drive.
Bus: There are various bus stops along Coronation Drive. The Traveline North East website can help you plan your journey.
Train: The closest train station is Hartlepool which is a 30 minute walk away.

We recommend this event is suitable for wheelchair users with assistance due to some narrow pinch points along the promenade path. The event site is on uneven grass which could make conditions difficult in bad weather.
We aim for maximum accessibility at our events. Our contact centre and on-site team are ready to assist with any needs or questions you may have.
Sunflower wristbands are available at the enquiries marquee, and our Event Managers are trained Dementia Friends.
A QR code will be available on the main event site to access British Sign Language stage content for those who use BSL.
