Life is worth Racing for. Enter Cancer Research UK’s Race for Life and raise money for life-saving cancer research.
Race for Life 5k is a great first challenge, no matter your age or fitness level. Go solo and join hundreds of people on the day, or sign up as a group with friends and family. There's no pressure to finish in a certain time, so walk, jog or run at your own pace and enjoy the atmosphere! However you take part, you're helping to beat cancer.
The race starts and finishes on grass, with a scenic road route circling Arthur’s Seat. Runners will enjoy sweeping views as they follow the course, which is mostly on tarmac and features one notable incline to add a rewarding challenge.

The start and finish lines are situated on the main playing fields of Holyrood Park.

Event Site:
The start and finish areas are on grass, which is flat and firm/soft underfoot. In wet weather, the ground may become soft or muddy.
Course:
The route includes tarmac and grass.
In poor weather, grass may become muddy/soft/slippery which could increase the level of assistance required.
There are also inclines/declines at with a maximum gradient of 4- 6%. You may require addtional asssistance with this in mind.
