About the 5k event

Race for Life 5k is a great first challenge, no matter your age or fitness level. Go solo and join hundreds of people on the day, or sign up as a group with friends and family. There's no pressure to finish in a certain time, so walk, jog or run at your own pace and enjoy the atmosphere! However you take part, you're helping to beat cancer.

Meeting point

The meeting point is on the London Road side of the park, along The Avenue path, KT17 2DL - please do not use the main entrance.

The start and finish is in Nonsuch Park, London Road side, nearest The Avenue path and Nonsuch Car Park.

By car:
General Event Parking:
Please use the car park which is accessed via London Road (which leads onto The Avenue) - use postcode KT17 2DL.  From here there is a short walk of 0.2 miles to the event site.  There is another car park along London Road with a slightly longer walk to the event site.  All car parks are free of charge. If using what3words, enter ///royal.obey.land in the free app.

Drop Offs: You are welcome to be dropped off in the car park.

Blue Badge Parking: Please speak to the stewards positioned in the Nonsuch Car Park overflow area about Blue Badge Parking - Epsom KT17 2DL.

Volunteer Parking: There is parking at Nonsuch Car Park and overflow area next to the main site - Epsom, KT17 2DL - (0.2 miles).

Electric Charging points: bp pulse Charging Station - Connect, London Road Ewell SF, Epsom KT17 2BW (0.4 miles) and Shell Recharge Charging Station - 137 Ewell By-Pass, Epsom KT17 2PX (0.5 miles).

Event Site: 
The start and finish areas are on grass, which is flat but uneven and firm underfoot. In wet weather, the ground may become soft or muddy.

Course: 
The route includes tarmac, grass and woodland .

In poor weather, grass, woodland may become muddy and slippery, which could increase the level of assistance required. 

There are declines at 4k/ 9k point, with a maximum gradient of 5%, plus narrow sections - between 2k - 4k going through woodland areas. An alternative route can bypass these but may shorten the course.

Parking: 
Blue Badge parking is available, approximately 0.2 miles from the event site on grass. See Travel Information for further deta
