About the 10k event

Race for Life 10k is a more challenging event, but without any pressure. Take it at your own pace and enjoy the atmosphere, or push yourself a little more. The events are chip-timed, so you can find out if you’ve beaten your personal best! Sign up as a group with friends and family, or go solo and join hundreds of people on the day. However you take part, you’re helping to beat cancer.

Course information

The start and finish is on hardstanding. The course is on tarmac paths taking you along the glorious seafront towards Boscombe Pier before leaving the 5k route and continuing along Boscombe promenade. The route turns around after 5k and returns to Pier Approach.

The start and finish is in front of the Seafront offices by Pier Approach.

By car:
General Event Parking:
Please plan your journey and use city centre car parks or public transport where possible.

Drop Offs: Drop off passengers in the turning area behind the Oceanarium, next to the BIC, just a minute walk from the event site.

Blue Badge Parking: For blue parking badge holders, the nearest disabled car parking is available at Bath Road North and Bath Road South. Please see the BCP Council Accessibility guide here to assist with making travel arrangements to this event.

Volunteer Parking: There is limited parking near Pier Approach in Bath Road North and Bath Road South car parks. Please plan your journey and use city centre car parks or public transport where possible.

Electric Charging points: Electric charging points can be found in City Centre car parks.

Event Site:
The start and finish areas are on tarmac, which is flatand firm underfoot. In wet weather, the ground may become slippy.

Course:
The route includes tarmac and hardstanding paths with possible congestion at the run around and 10k split point.
In windy weather the paths may become sandy which may increase the need for assistance.

Parking:
Blue Badge parking is not available at the site but is available within Bournemouth town centre. See Travel Information for further details.
