Life is worth Racing for. Enter Cancer Research UK’s Race for Life and raise money for life-saving cancer research.

About the 10k event

Race for Life 10k is a more challenging event, but without any pressure. Take it at your own pace and enjoy the atmosphere, or push yourself a little more. The events are chip-timed, so you can find out if you’ve beaten your personal best! Sign up as a group with friends and family, or go solo and join hundreds of people on the day. However you take part, you’re helping to beat cancer.

Course information

The start and finish are on grass. With its picturesque setting beside the River Trent, participants will enjoy the flat route with a mixture of terrains, perfect for all abilities to walk, jog or run. The 10k course is a double lap of the 5k route.

Once you sign up for your Race for Life event, you'll receive an email with all the need-to-know details to help you feel fully prepared for the day.

Meeting point

The start and finish line is on the field just off Wilford Grove, on the Meadows Ground just down from the Council Building.

Travel information

By car:
General Event Parking:
There is free parking on the sports field for all participants, the entrance to the parking location can be found off Bathley Street, there is then a short walk to the event site. Please follow event signs and stewards. Please DO NOT park along Victoria Embankment, as this forms part of the course, and you will not be able to remove your vehicle until the race is complete. All parking is on grass and please note there is a 10 minute walk from the event car park to the event site, please arrive in plenty of time to get parked and walk to the event site before your start time, car sharing where possible is advised. Please avoid parking around the residential areas.

Drop Offs: Please use the Victoria Embankment Car Park, off the Felton Road/Green Street junction. Please DO NOT park along Victoria Embankment, as this forms part of the course, and you will not be able to remove your vehicle until the race is complete.

Blue Badge Parking: Can be found at the same location as general event parking. Please inform the stewards you require accessible parking and follow their directions on the day.

Volunteer Parking: This is available at the Victoria Embankment Car Park, off the Felton Road/Green Street junction. Please DO NOT park along Victoria Embankment, as this forms part of the course, and you will not be able to remove your vehicle until the race is complete.

Electric Charging points: There are two BP charging points available at the Victoria Embankment Car Park, off the Felton Road/Green Street junction.

Please follow the directions of the stewards and the signage on event day.

Bus: There are multiple Bus routes available to Victoria Embankment. Please visit Nottingham City Transport for your most suitable route.

Train: The nearest station is Nottingham, which is a 25 minute walk to the event.

Event Site:
The start and finish areas are on grass, which is slightly uneven but is firm underfoot. In wet weather, the ground may become soft or muddy.

Course:
The route includes a mixture or surfaces such as tarmac paths, hardstanding paths and grass and is a double lap, with possible congestion at the split point.
In poor weather, the grass sections may become muddy and slippery which could increase the level of assistance required.
