Life is worth Racing for. Enter Cancer Research UK’s Race for Life and raise money for life-saving cancer research.
Race for Life 3k is ideal for families or groups doing their first Race for Life. It's a fun, achievable and an unforgettable day out! Sign up as a group with friends and family, or go solo and join hundreds of people on the day. There's no pressure to finish in a certain time, so walk, jog or run at your own pace and enjoy the atmosphere. However you take part, you're helping to beat cancer.
The start and finish are on grass. The course is on a mixture of grass and tarmacked paths. With its picturesque setting, participants will enjoy the flat, mixed terrain route.

Once you sign up for your Race for Life event, you'll receive an email with all the need-to-know details to help you feel fully prepared for the day.
The start and finish are on the largest grass section of Victoria Park, opposite the sports courts between London Road and Granville Road Car Park.

By car:
General Event Parking: There is limited parking available at and around the venue. Please follow the directional signage and stewards which will direct you to park. Limited car parking is available at Leicester University. Freemans Common Multi-Storey Car Park, 11 Putney Road, Leicester, LE2 7TF can also be used for parking close to Victoria Park. Alternatively East Street and Welford Road NCP car parks are car parks close to New Walk which leads to Victoria Park. Normal parking charges will apply for all public car parks.
Drop Offs: Participants can be dropped off at Victoria Park Car Park off of Granville Road.
Blue Badge Parking: Blue badge parking is available at Victoria Park Car Park off of Granville Road. Normal charges apply. Please follow the directional signs.
Volunteer Parking: Volunteer parking is available at Victoria Park Car Park off of Granville Road. Normal charges apply. Please follow the directional signs.
Electric Charging points: Limited amounts available within the public car parks listed.
Public transport and pedestrians:
Pedestrians: There are various public transport links to the venue.
Bus: There are many bus routes that pass Victoria Park. London Road and Victoria Park Road bus stops are closest to Victoria Park.
Train: The nearest station is Leicester which is a 10 minute walk away from Victoria Park.
Cycling & Bike Racks: A bike park available at the event, so we encourage participants to cycle to the event.

Event Site:
The start and finish areas are on grass, which is flat and soft underfoot. In wet weather, the ground may become soft or muddy.
Course:
The route includes mostly grass but includes some sections of tarmac paths.
In poor weather, grass may become muddy, which could increase the level of assistance required.
Parking:
Blue Badge parking is available, approximately 200m from the event site on hardstanding in the car park. See Travel Information for further details.
