Hudson's Field
Life is worth Racing for. Enter Cancer Research UK’s Race for Life and raise money for life-saving cancer research.
Looking for more of a challenge without any pressure? Race for Life 10k is for you! Our 10k events are now chip-timed, so you can find out if you’ve beaten your personal best – while you’re raising funds to help beat cancer. 10k is just over 6 miles. Take it at your own pace or push yourself a little more. Have fun with it and enjoy the atmosphere.
The start is on grass within Hudson's Field
The course starts and finishes on Hudson's Field on the edge of Salisbury. The route exits Hudson Field onto Stratford Road and runs on the road towards Little Durnford. It continues onto Beech Walk and then follows a farm track back towards Hudsons field via Old Sarum. The course is mostly on cross country type tracks with undulating hills with spectacular views.
The finish is on grass within Hudson's Field.
Please remember to bring your own water bottle already filled as there will be no bottled water provided at events. There will be a water refill station 1/2 around the course and a ScottishPower water refill station will be available to use at the finish.
Please arrive 30 to 45mins before your start time so that you are prepared and ready to go on time.
Our courses have been measured with a measuring wheel. This is the most accurate measurement method.
You can take part in any Race for Life event as an individual or a group to raise money for life-saving research. Walk, jog or run together in a group or go solo at your own pace, or lead the way as a Group Leader and get family, friends and colleagues involved! However you choose to take part, you’re helping to beat cancer.
Shake off any pre-Race nerves and get moving with our fun warm-up session just before your event.
Bring along as many supporters as you like to cheer you on! We’ve got things for everyone to do, check out the Location section above to see what’s happening on the day.
After you've completed the course, stay on and celebrate with other participants, friends and family with a picnic in the park.

Pedestrians: Access through main gates on Castle Road and Stratford Road
General Event Parking: We will be providing free of charge parking on grass for all participants and spectators within Hudson's Field. Please access via Castle Road and follow the car park signage and steward guidance. Please do not park in surrounding cul-de-sacs.
Blue Badge Parking: Blue badge parking is available towards the front of the event parking area. Stewards will direct any blue badge holders to these spaces.
Volunteer Parking: Event car parking is available in Hudson's Field, access via Castle Road.
Drop Offs: Participants can be dropped off within the event car park in Hudson's Field

Bus: No 8 bus from Salisbury City centre to Castle Road
Train: The nearest train station is Salisbury, which is about a 30 minute walk from the venue. Please note - Stratford Road will be closed for the duration of this event.

Accessibility description This course is on a mixture of tarmac roads, country lanes and grass. The turning from Beech Road towards Field Barn Cottages is steep and follows a stoney track which then turns onto a public footpath across fields and through woodland. Therefore, the route is deemed not accessible for wheelchair or pushchair users.
