About the 10k event

Looking for more of a challenge without any pressure? Race for Life 10k is for you!
Our 10k events are now chip-timed, so you can find out if you’ve beaten your personal best – while you’re raising funds to help beat cancer.
10k is just over 6 miles. Take it at your own pace or push yourself a little more. Have fun with it and enjoy the atmosphere.

Your entry fee covers the cost of your event, but your fundraising helps us save and improve lives. Join the celebration, join the family, and join the thousands helping to raise the money we need to power Cancer Research UK’s biggest discoveries.
Event details
The start and finish area will be located between Mote Park Pavilion cafe, Maidstone Leisure Centre and 'Mote Park Main Children's Playground' (as labelled on Google Maps).

Pedestrians: There are a number of access points at Mote Park. Please head towards the Cafe and you will see the main event site.
General Event Parking: The designated Race for Life car park opens at 09:15 and will close at 15:00, so please ensure that your vehicle is moved by this time. Any cars left in this car park after this time will be locked in until the following day.
Blue Badge Parking: There are blue badge parking bays in the main Mote Park Car Park, which is behind the childrens play ground.
Drop Offs: Please follow the traffic management signs towards the car park. Stewards will be in position to manage the drop off. You will exit via the Leisure Centre.
Bus: The Mall bus station is 1 mile from the main event site.
Train: Maidstone West is 1.7 miles away and Maidstone East is 1.4 miles.
Electric Charging points: There are no charging points at the venue, the closest ones are Pod Point - 0.3 miles or KCC charging point - 0.3 miles.
Cycling & Bike Racks: There are bike racks available within the park.
The event is unsuitable for wheelchair users due to the uneven terrain and some steep inclines.

If you feel you might need extra help at the event please do pick up a badge at the Blue Enquires Marquee so that our crew and volunteers can look out for you and check you are OK.

Bring a water bottle
We’re trying to reduce single-use plastic at Race for Life. Please bring your own reusable water bottle, already filled. We'll provide an ecofriendly water-refill station at the finish that uses as little single-use plastic as possible.
Have the right kit
It’s a good idea to check the weather before your event and dress accordingly. Think breathable sports gear (leggings and shorts are ideal) and well-fitting trainers. For Pretty Muddy, wear something you don’t mind getting dirty.

Be sun smart
Stay sun safe by finding shade when you’re not on the course and covering up with clothes, a hat and sunglasses. On parts you can’t cover, use sunscreen with at least SPF15 and a 4 or 5 star rating. Find out more about being sun smart.
Your back sign and race number
Remember to bring your back sign and Race number which will be sent to you in the post – don’t forget safety pins so you can attach them to you.
